Have Questions? We have answers.
Q: If I eat healthy during my pregnancy do I still need to take a prenatal vitamin?
A: Even if you eat a well-balanced diet, most doctors recommend a prenatal vitamin to ensure you receive enough folic acid and iron. Folic Acid helps protect the baby from birth defects. Extra iron is needed during pregnancy to protect you from anemia and help the baby grow properly. Other vitamins are important as well such as calcium and vitamin D. Be Well Rounded!™ is meant to be a complement to eating a healthy diet, eating healthy is still very important.
Q: Can I just take a regular multivitamin?
A: During pregnancy, your body needs extra vitamins and nutrients that are not in (or not in at a high enough level) a regular multi-vitamin. We recommend using a prenatal vitamin prior to, during and post-pregnancy.
Q: Why is the DHA supplement separate from the vitamin?
A: Having a separate DHA supplement allows for a more stable and consistent product to ensure all the vitamins and minerals are of the highest quality. Having the ingredients combined with the vitamin may degrade the potency of the vitamins and minerals. Also, it allows us to keep the caplet petite as you know, we don’t like horse pills!
Q: Will I become constipated if I use Be Well Rounded!™?
A: Be Well Rounded!™ contains chelated iron, (Ferrochel® Iron) which is a special iron blend that is easy on the stomach and will not cause the constipation, gastric upset or nausea many women experience due to the increased iron intake during pregnancy
Q: If I take Be Well Rounded!™, can I eat whatever I want?
A: It’s very important to continue eating a healthy, well-balanced diet during pregnancy. Be Well Rounded!™ is meant as a complement to your diet.
Q: When should I start and stop taking Be Well Rounded!™?
A: You should start taking Be Well Rounded!™ before you try to conceive. Taking Be Well Rounded!™ before you conceive will give your body the nutrients, especially folic acid, it needs for the first few weeks of pregnancy – before you receive a positive pregnancy test. You should also take Be Well Rounded!™ before, during and after your pregnancy if you are nursing.
Q: If I forget to take Be Well Rounded!™ one day should I take two the next day?
A: No, if you forget to take Be Well Rounded!™ for one day, do not double up on the dose.
Q: There are so many prenatal vitamins on the market, why should I choose Be Well Rounded!™?
A: We love this question! Be Well Rounded!™ is easy to swallow, allows for easier absorption and is better tolerated than other prenatal vitamins. It is Dye Free thus not subjecting our mamas to FD&C colorants. Be Well Rounded!™ contains Ferrochel® chelated iron, which is easier on the stomach, does not interact with other nutrients and is safer than inorganic iron supplements such as ferrous sulfate. Lutemax 2020® which is a special lutein blend helps develop healthy eyes and protect babies’ eyes from damaging blue light. Our DHA supplement contains 450mg DHA/EPA which is 100% more than other leading prenatal DHA supplements. It is enteric coated, which allows for a higher absorption into your system and eliminates the fish burp.
Q: Why do I need more folic acid, calcium, and iron during my pregnancy?
A: Taking folic acid, a B vitamin, before and during pregnancy is important to prevent birth defects of your baby’s brain and spinal cord. Your growing baby needs calcium to build strong bones and teeth, a healthy heart, nerves, and muscles. If you do not get enough calcium while you are pregnant, the baby will take it from your bones, which may impair your own health later on. Iron is essential for making the protein (hemoglobin) in red blood cells that carry oxygen to other cells. During pregnancy, the amount of blood in your body increases (to 50% more than usual) – more iron is needed to make more hemoglobin. Iron deficiency during pregnancy can lead to preterm delivery.
Q: You say that the vitamin is dye-free, what makes it pink?
A: We worked very hard to eliminate any harmful FD&C dyes from our vitamins. We utilized beetroot to provide the beautiful pink hue. Beetroot is a natural colorant that poses no harm to you or your baby.
Q: What is DHA? Why do I need to take it during my pregnancy?
A: DHA is short for docosahexaenoic acid, a fatty acid found in the meat of cold-water fish, whale and seal blubber. DHA is used during pregnancy to help promote better brain development of the fetus.
Q: Can I take Be Well Rounded!™ even if I’m not pregnant, planning to become pregnant or lactating?
A: Although Be Well Rounded!™ was specifically developed for pregnant women, you can take it even if you are not pregnant, planning to become pregnant or lactating.
Q: What information do I need to provide to my doctor for him/her to confirm this is the right prenatal vitamin for me?
A: You should show your doctor the Be Well Rounded!™ ingredient list.
Q: What is chelated minerals?
A: In their ordinary form, minerals are difficult for the body to absorb through the intestine. The process of chelation does the stomach’s work in advance by producing low molecular weight mineral compounds in which the minerals are bound to amino acids to produce natural organic chelates that can pass easily through the intestinal wall. It reduces gastro upset and nausea.
Q: What is Lutemax 2020®?
A: Lutemax 2020 is a special blend of Lutein and Zeaxanthin that provides extra support in developing and maintaining healthy eyes. Lutein is called a carotenoid vitamin. It is related to beta-carotene and vitamin A. Foods rich in lutein include broccoli, spinach, kale, corn, orange pepper, kiwi fruit, grapes, orange juice, zucchini, and squash. Lutein is absorbed best when it is taken with a high-fat meal.
Q: What is natural enteric-coating and why is it better?
A: Natural coatings can be made from plant-sourced ingredients such as tree fibers and algae and provides a coating over the soft gel. Enteric coating provides an increased absorption of Omega 3 Fatty Acids and reduces the side effects, i.e, the fish burp
Q: Why is lutein important in my prenatal vitamin?
A: Lutein has been shown to play a role in early infant development, particularly brain and eye development.
